The Sydney Kings are anticipated to continue their winning streak by defeating the Tasmania JackJumpers in the NBL25 Round 5 matchup. The Kings' defense is expected to be crucial, particularly in handling JackJumpers' key player, Bryce Hamilton, whose scoring will be limited. Historically, games between these two teams have been low-scoring affairs, hinting another such outcome. Key players Kendric Davis and Kuot Noi have shown exceptional performances for Sydney, contributing to the team's strong form. Fans can catch the game on ESPN via Kayo and Foxtel.

We were all worried about the Sydney Kings, but a defensive masterclass against MVP Bryce Cotton last weekend has changed the tune a little. Brian Goorjian did some of his best work writing up the scheme to hold Cotton to just 7 points and you can expect that a similar tactic will be used to contain the JackJumpers strike weapon Bryce Hamilton on Wednesday.

Hamilton leads the Jackjumpers in scoring and shutting him down will likely ensure a victory to the Kings on Wednesday. The Tasmanian import has an average of 20.6 points this season and he will score less than that against Sydney.

Stops will be the theme of this contest with two defensive-minded coaches going at it. It is no surprise that all three games between Roth and Goorjian went under the game total last year and you have to follow that trend once again in this one.

  • Sydney have won their last 4 matches against Tasmania.
  • The last 4 matches between Sydney and Tasmania have gone under the game total.
  • Tasmania are ranked 8th in scoring this season (84.6/G).
  • Bryce Hamilton has scored 22 points or less in his last 3 matches.

Tasmania JackJumpers Form & Team News

The JackJumpers ended a four-game away run with a 98-89 loss to the Adelaide 36ers, however there were plenty of positives to come out of a tough early-season draw after winning 3 of matches on the mainland.

Tasmania are finding their identity and it is revolving around import Bryce Hamilton who leads the team with a 20 point average along with 4 assists per game. What needs to develop a little more is how Scott Roth uses their bigs Will Magnay and Josh Banan, who have not gelled to their potential just yet.

Magnay had his best game of the season in the loss to the 36ers with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals, while Banan peaked the game prior with 23 points and 15 rebounds against the Bullets in his return to Brisbane.

The JackJumpers need to see both of the forwards have big games together if they want to be a true force this season.

Sydney Kings Form & Team News

There are some question marks around the Sydney Kings start to NBL25 but they went a long way in answering those with a crushing victory over the 36ers in Adelaide on Sunday, getting up 103-79.

The talking point was all around how they shut down 5-time MVP Bryce Cotton, holding him to just 7 points and 30% from the field. On offence it was Kendric Davis (22points) and Kuot Noi (29 points + 6 rebounds) that took care of business.

Xavier Cooks had a slow start to the year but has found his feet again with two strong performances for Sydney having a 12pts + 8reb + 5ass match against Adelaide, backing up his 21pts + 9reb + 4ass he had against Melbourne in Sydney’s 107-93 loss to United.
