Illawarra Hawks vs Adelaide 36ers NBL26 Round 13 Tips - Cameron from down town
In the NBL25 Round 13 matchup, the Adelaide 36ers face the Illawarra Hawks, a team they've dominated with 10 wins in their last 11 encounters. Despite Adelaide's strong position, they must address defensive lapses from recent leads lost. Illawarra struggles defensively, especially at the perimeter, against Adelaide’s shooters like Bryce Cotton and Flynn Cameron. Expert predictions favor Adelaide to cover a 4.5-point spread and exceed 93.5 points. Flynn Cameron is expected to excel with his three-point shooting. The game tips off at 5:30 PM AEDT, December 20.

The 36ers have lost just once to the Hawks since the NBL23 season, winning the last 6 consecutive games, dating back to New Years of 2023 to 2024 when Illawarra got their last victory.
The 36ers are now the best team in the NBL and the Hawks are the champs, so a lot has changed, however, I don’t see this trend breaking on Saturday evening. Defence has been an issue for the Hawks all season, especially from the perimeter and they now face the 36ers who have three guys in Bryce Cotton, Flynn Cameron and DJ Vasiljevic who love a long ball.
With Cotton getting most of the attention from defensive specialist Wani Swaka lo Buluk, I am looking at the overs for Flynn Cameron and will play his three point ladder, getting double the cash for two and $4.50 for three from outside.
If the three balls drop, expect Adelaide to put up a standard opposition score for the Hawks and go over their team total and cover the line as the away favourite.
- Adelaide have won 10 of their last 11 games against Illawarra
- Illawarra are ranked 10th in the NBL with an average of 96.9 opposition points per game.
- Adelaide averages 93.2 points per game this season.
- Flynn Cameron has a 3P% of 38.5 this season.

Illawarra Hawks Form & Team News
The Hawks were unable to string consecutive wins together for the second time this season, going down to Melbourne United 97-75 at John Cain on Thursday night.
Coming off one of their better performances of the year in their 108-85 victory over Brisbane, Illawarra were competitive for the first three quarters against United, down by just 7 at the last break and still had everything to play for. However a fourth quarter collapse, where they were outscored 23-8, saw another game sail away from the reigning champs.
It is the same old story for Illawarra, who are officially the worst defensive team in the competition, allowing their opponents 96.9 points per game. Their lack of defence from the three point line is an underlining issue, with their opponents dropping 33.6 3P% from the perimeter this season.
Adelaide 36ers Form & Team News
Adelaide still have a two-game buffer at the top of the table sharing 14 wins with Melbourne, who have played a couple of games more.
There are some concerns for Adelaide though with the 36ers now blowing an 18-point lead in each of their last two games, against Melbourne and Sydney, the latter costing them a ‘W’.
The 36ers looked in full control in their Ignite Cup match against the Kings on Wednesday, but put it on cruise control too early, getting blown out 23-9 in the third quarter as Sydney clawed back and forced overtime, winning in the match in the extra term 97-93.
Adelaide have been tight defensively for the most part this season, however these lapses are hurting them after doing all the hard work early.
