South East Melbourne Phoenix vs Brisbane Bullets NBL26 Round 13 Tips - Phoenix Tipped to Win, But Be Careful

In an NBL25 Round 13 clash, the South East Melbourne Phoenix are expected to secure a victory against the Brisbane Bullets. With South East Melbourne boasting a robust offensive lineup as the second-best scoring team in the league, they are the favorites. Brisbane, currently on a six-game losing streak and dealing with recent coaching upheavals, could struggle despite individual talent. The recommendation is to back SEM for a home win but avoid significant wagers due to potential player minute reductions in case of a blowout.

South East Melbourne Phoenix vs Brisbane Bullets NBL25 Round 13 Expert Tips

South East Melbourne should have no trouble taking care of the Brisbane Bullets on Saturday. But stranger things have happened in this league.

Now i’m not saying that Brisbane are going to win, because they really shouldn’t. But this is the type of spot that can hurt a team like SEM. They were just in Perth on Thursday, fly back to Melbourne and matchup on Saturday night against the worst team in the league.

They will be confident, maybe too confident. Brisbane have let their coach go this week and while they don’t have the depth to match what is the deepest team in the league in the Phoenix, they still have a few really good individuals on their team.

All i am saying is be careful. The stats and trends say that SE Melbourne should dominate, they are the 2nd best scoring team in the league while Brisbane over the last 6 games are the worst, by a very big margin. Even the Bullets defence has been suffering, 10th in the NBL during the same stretch.

Take SEM as the home favourite to win and cover, but don’t blow your budget on this game. Player totals are dangerous here with SEM players logging fewer minutes in blowouts. Take the Phoenix team total over instead.

  • SEM have won both prior matchups this season and covered as favourites.
  • Brisbane are on a 6 game losing streak, averaging just 77.5 pts per game during the stretch, 13pts less than any other opponent in the same span.
  • The Phoenix are the 2nd best scoring team in the league and have scored 100+ against Brisbane in 4 straight games.
  • SEM starters all logged fewer minutes in the blowout wins against Brisbane earlier this season.

South East Melbourne Phoenix Form & Team News

SEM pulled a rabbit out of the hat on Thursday night in Perth, winning 77-76 thanks to a John Brown III jumper at the death. It was a rollercoaster night for the Phoenix who scored a respectable 17 points in the first quarter before capitulating for just 9 pts in the 2nd.

The halftime break allowed them to shift their mindset and they came out in the third and dropped 31 pts against the hometown Wildcats which helped them on the way to the victory which snapped a 6 game losing streak at the venue.

SE Melbourne rank 2nd in scoring, putting up 95.8 pts per game while allowing 88.5 pts to their opponents, ranking 6th in the league.

Brisbane Bullets Form & Team News

Brisbane’s losing streak continued last weekend as they went down at home to the Perth Wildcats 86-62. It was their 6th straight loss and prompted rookie coach Stu Lash to step down as head coach of the club. Something that has been on the wall for a while.

Even with the (re)addition of Javon Freeman-Liberty to the team, they have just not been able to recreate the scoring from earlier in the season when Casey Prather was healthy and on the court.

Through this 6 game streak, they are scoring at league worst 77.5 pts per game, a whole 13 pts fewer than the team above them.
