The Tasmania JackJumpers are predicted to maintain their undefeated road record in NBL25 Round 3, overcoming the Brisbane Bullets in a low-scoring defensive battle. Both teams face injury concerns, impacting their offensive firepower and placing more emphasis on defense. The game total is expected to stay under 173.5 points, based on recent trends. Tyrell Harrison, in career-best form, is tipped to exceed 30 combined points and rebounds against a JackJumpers squad vulnerable to big men. Key action points focus on defense, managing injuries, and individual player performances.

Tasmania head into this match in Brisbane under an injury cloud but have received good news that Josh Banan will play overcoming a thumb injury but Majok Deng will miss a couple of weeks testing their depth early in the season. Brisbane have their own injury worries with McDaniel ruled out, struggling to find a leader of their offence.

With unsettled lineups I am not expecting this match to be an explosive attacking performance from either team, both leaning on defensive structures to win them this one. The Game total is low at 173.5, but I like the under play here with both teams playing 2 of their three games under this total.

Brisbane centre Tyrell Harrison has started the season in career-best form averaging a double-double per game. Tasmania just gave up 32 points and 13 rebounds to JaVale McGee in their victory over the Hawks which flags a weakness against bigs (not to that extreme, but still). Harrison has gone over his Points + Rebounds total in all three games and I’m jumping on that again against Tasmania.

  • Tasmania has won both of their away games this season.
  • Both teams have played 2 of their three games this season with a Game Total under 173.5 points.
  • Tasmania’s defence ranks 8th in opposition rebounds (41.0 per game).
  • Tyrell Harrison averages 21 points and 11 rebounds this season.

Brisbane Bullets Form & Team News

The Bullets have started the season with three road games and will hope to see a stronger performance on their home court against the JackJumpers in their opener in Brisbane. The Bullets picked up a strong win in New Zealand but have then failed to fire in the other two away games against Cairns and Adelaide.

The positive will be that they have improved dramatically in defence compared with last season’s averages, giving up just 88.3 points per game compared to the 97.2 opposition points from last season. With early pressure on new head coach Stu Lash, at least their defensive systems are improving as they struggle with some early injuries to Mitch Norton and Sam McDaniel.

Tyrell Harrisson is certainly doing his part, starting the season in arguably career-best form averaging a double-double per game with 21 points and 11.3 rebounds with 2 assists and 2 steals to boot.

Tasmania JackJumpers Form & Team News

For a team that 4-11 away from home last season the JackJumpers have started NBL26 with a new outlook on road games with their only loss so far this season at home going 2-0 outside of the Island with a 2-1 record.

The acquisition of Bryce Hamilton has certainly paid off for the JackJumpers with the former South Bay Laker proving to be one of pickups of the NBL offseason, leading Tasmania with an average of 23.7 pts, 5.3 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Both Hamilton and fellow import Tyger Campbell clicked against the reigning Champion Hawks, ruining their banner raising party by getting the underdog victory 91-86, with Hamilton and Campbell combining for 38 points.
