In the upcoming NBL25 Round 9 matchup, the Brisbane Bullets seek to maintain their winning record against the New Zealand Breakers in the Ignite Cup. Despite the psychological setback faced by the Breakers following a major second-half collapse against the Bullets in their previous encounter, Brisbane is favored to win again. Standout performances from Casey Prather and Tyrell Harrison, both having career-best seasons, bolster the Bullets' chances. The Bullets are expected not only to win but to cover, with their team total likely to go over. Tyrell Harrison is a standout player to watch.

These teams met back on the 23rd of October in NZ with Brisbane putting on an amazing 45-26 second half to steal victory from the Breakers on home court. It was an all-time capitulation from Petteri Koponen’s men after being up 18pts at the main break.

The psychological toll a loss like that takes on a team is heavy and while the Breakers bounced back the following game to belt the Hawks, they have since lost two in a row. Brisbane will be sure to remind them of the situation in front of their home crowd this Wednesday night.

For the Bullets, Casey Prather and Tyrell Harrison are both having career years in scoring and rebounding despite varied results from the team in general. Brisbane have alternated between wins and losses over the past few rounds with scoring consistency across four quarters still haunting them.

Even with the inconsistencies Brisbane are the better team and more in form team which is reflected in the line. Take them to win and cover with their Team Total expected to go Over. Tyrell Harrison is the pick of the Bullets to exceed both points and rebounds

Brisbane Bullets Form & Team News

Brisbane continued with their alternating win-loss form last weekend with a 83-81 victory over the JackJumpers in Tasmania. The win was the Bullets’ third straight on the road, lifting them to 7th on the ladder.

Casey Prather was again the heart of the scoring, putting up 28pts and 8 rebounds. Prather is the 2nd best scorer in the league this season while putting up career numbers in shots and makes, FG%, rebounds, steals and points per game.

Tyrell Harrison is third in the league in rebounds despite the team being last in total rebounds per game. Brisbane also allow the third most points of any team in the league but weigh it up by being the 4th best scoring team.

New Zealand Breakers Form & Team News

Round 8 was not fruitful for the Breakers as they dropped two in a row, first to the 36ers 83-79 at home before being done by the Kings on the road 79-72. They now sit second last on the ladder, tied with Cairns with a league worst 3-9 record.

Their only win over their last 5 games was a 102-60 demolition of the Illawarra Hawks in Round 7 but the scoring they have had against the Hawks this year (two 100+ pt performances) has eluded the team in all their other matchups. Apart from a score of 95 in their game 1 loss to the Bullets, New Zealand have posted a high score of only 88 outside of the Hawks matchups.

They are dead last in 3pt%, hitting at just 28.2% while their 12.9 turnovers per game has them at 8th in the league in that metric.
