Adelaide bounced back from their loss against Perth last week with a 97-86 victory over the Tasmania JackJumpers on Thursday night in Tassie.

The 36ers had the game wrapped up by 3 qtr time, leading 80-55 but Tassie busted out in the 4th, scoring 31 points to send some signals to the league to not count them out of games.

Adelaide were unusually led in scoring by Zylan Cheatham with 27 pts and 13 boards with 4 assists and 2 blocks in what was a career night. Bryce Cotton added just 12 points in 33 minutes of play. Despite a short bench rotation of just 3 players, they added 29 points to help seal the deal.

Cairns were once again blown off the court in their Friday night matchup against South East Melbourne. They held it tight in the first quarter down 28-24 against the league’s best scoring unit but the 2nd quarter was a shambles 36-15 in favour of the visitors.

Cairns won the second half 51-37 but the damage was already done with SEM emptying their bench midway through the 4th. Jack McVeigh top scored for the Taipans with 22 pts while Kyrin Galloway added 13 off the bench.

Turnovers once again punished Cairns, 19-6 in the game, handing their opponents a mountain of extra possessions. Despite their problems, they were able to shoot well from distance, 11-27 for a 40.7% rate on the night. They remain though one of the worst shooting teams in the NBL.
