In the NBL25 Round 9 matchup, experts predict the Perth Wildcats will secure their fourth consecutive victory over the New Zealand Breakers. Despite New Zealand's recent 29-point victory over the Bullets, Perth's size, depth, and home court advantage are expected to be pivotal. Australian players Dylan Windler and Kristian Doolittle are anticipated to score at least 15 points each, with Windler likely to achieve 10+ rebounds. The Wildcats' defense, ranked third in recent games, could further challenge New Zealand's inconsistent scoring.

New Zealand are coming off an impressive 29pt victory on the road over the Bullets on Wednesday night but it was only their 2nd win on the road this season and now need to make the trip over to Perth to take on a red hot Wildcats outfit.

Perth took care of business on the road in Adelaide in their last start, Dylan Windler and Kristian Doolittle combining for 34 pts, 21 boards and 8 assists to just 2 turnovers. The Wildcats are the 3rd ranked team in the league for Turnovers, giving up the ball just 11.5 times per game.

The inside game of the Wildcats will present problems for the Breakers as it has done all season. In their previous matchup earlier this year, New Zealand allowed the Perth bigs of Jo Lual-Acuil, Kristian Doolittle and Dylan Windler to dominate the painted area, the team going 61.5% from two point range.

New Zealand’s scoring has been sporadic at best in NBL26, they are ranked 8th in scoring and now come up against the Wildcats who have the number 3 ranked defence over the last 5 games.

Take Perth to win and cover, the Game Total to go Under 181.5, both Dylan Windler and Kristian Doolittle to score at least 15 pts each in a multi and take a chance on Windler to grab 10+ boards for great value.

  • Perth have cleared the 5.5 pt line in 5 of their 6 victories this season and have won 3 straight against New Zealand.
  • The Wildcats are the number 3 ranked defensive team over the last 5 rounds, New Zealand are the number 1 ranked defensive team in the same span indicating a low score.
  • Kristian Doolittle and Dylan Windler both scored 15+ in the recent game vs New Zealand, Windler has hit that mark in 5 of his last 7, Doolittle in 2 of his last 3.
  • Dylan Windler had 15 rebounds in his last game vs New Zealand and has had 10+ in 4 of his last 7 games.

The Wildcats shot well from inside, reaching 60.5% from 2pt range while keeping Adelaide to just 41.3%. Bryce Cotton was also kept quiet for Bryce Cotton standards, just 23 pts for the league’s leading scorer.

New Zealand Breakers Form & Team News

New Zealand broke a two game losing streak on Wednesday night with a comprehensive 113-84 victory over the Brisbane Bullets.

It was just the 3rd time this season that New Zealand have broken triple digits. A 27-18 first quarter was bettered by a 41 point performance in the second quarter setting up a lead that was unbeatable, despite the second half woes in recent Breakers games.

All 5 Breakers starters scored in double digits while the bench added 29 pts. Sam Mennenga topped all comers with 25 pts, 6 rebounds and 2 assists as well as 2 steals and a block. Defensively they kept the Bullets to just 17.6% from distance.
