The Chris Waller-trained Kadinsky Abstract has kicked-off his career in style, with the superbly bred two-year-old recording a debut victory at Canterbury on May 3.
Sent out as a drifting $4.20 chance on the third line of betting, the son of Zoustar found the box-seat early from barrier one under James McDonald and when the gap presented at the 200m, he produced a strong turn-of-foot to bring up a soft win on the line.
Speaking to Sky Racing post Wednesday's victory was Damien Fitton - the Assistant Racing Manager for Chris Waller Racing.
"It was a courageous effort from him, it's very hard for two-year-old's to barge their way out on their first start and really show their muscle, but he's a quality colt," said Fitton.
"I think we've got a nice horse on our hands."
Wednesday's triumph saw Kadinsky Abstract firm in the futures market for the Group 1 JJ Atkins on June 10, although no plans have been confirmed regarding a trip to Brisbane.
"We'll just see how he comes out of today's run and obviously Chris will make a plan with owners, but most importantly he got the win today and now it's just seeing how he recovers from the race," said Fitton.
"We'll make a call later in the week."
A $3 million dollar purchase at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Kadinsky Abstract is a full brother to three-time Group 1 winner Sunlight.
Another sibling sold for a big price this year, with a full sister to Sunlight fetching $2.6 million at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
