In an upcoming NBL25 clash, the Tasmania JackJumpers face the New Zealand Breakers. Following a 92-73 victory over Melbourne United, the JackJumpers aim to solidify their home dominance. New Zealand enters the match on a three-game losing streak on the road with defensive vulnerabilities having allowed an average of 96.66 points in recent games. The JackJumpers are expected to prioritize defense, capitalizing on Will Magnay's form, and continue their trend of scoring over 90 points. Their strategy focuses on consistent performances, especially at home, to bolster playoff chances.

Tasmania JackJumpers vs New Zealand Breakers NBL25 Round 14 Expert Tips

Boxing Day will be kind to JackJumpers fans as their team gets their home form together registering just their third win of the season on the island in NBL26.

Tasmania showed against Melbourne United on Tuesday in their 92-73 victory that when they get it right they are on of the most dangerous teams in the competition. They now need to do it consistently and just as importantly get things right on their home court, especially if they are serious about the their playoff hopes.

They face New Zealand who have lost all three of their matches on their current road phase of their season and coming to Tasmania hasn’t been a successful trip of late with the Jackies taking the last two on the island.

New Zealand’s defence has fallen off over the last 3 matches allowing their opponents to score an average of 96.66 points per game, so as scary as it sounds I’m backing the JackJumpers to register their second consecutive match over 90.

Will Magnay continues to be the difference defensively for the JackJumpers and he will thrive in a tough rebound battle against the Breakers and notch another 7 boards.

  • New Zealand have lost their last 3 matches, all away from home.
  • The home team has won 6 of the last 7 games between Tasmania and New Zealand.
  • New Zealand have given up 90+ points in 5 of their last 6 points.
  • Will Magnay has 7+ rebounds in 6 of his last 7 games.

Tasmania JackJumpers Form & Team News

NBL26 is a little on its head for the JackJumpers who extended their road record to 7-4 with another win in Melbourne against United, 92-73. Everything clicked for the Jackies on Tuesday night, despite still struggling from the perimeter, (4/17 from three) they finished the match with 47.8 FG% in one of thier strongest offensive performances of the season.

The  Tassie bigs were aggressive on the rebounds, giving up just 5 offensive boards to Melbourne and out-rebounding their opponents 51-31 in the match. All of the JackJumpers scored on the same night, which is a rarity with Tyger Campbell having his best match in the NBL with 20points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, along with 2 blocks and steals. David Johson added 14 from the bench while Bryce Hamilton (18 points) and Josh Bannan 12 pts + 12 rebs) also got theirs.

Tasmania have now shown what they can do when they get it all together, holding Melbourne to their lowest score of the season while dropping over 90 themselves. The goal is to do it at home and consistently.

New Zealand Breakers Form & Team News

The Breakers have fallen off the rails again, unable to win on their current road stretch losing three matches outside of New Zealand against the Phoenix, Cairns and the latest against the Bullets on Monday night.

The 95-85 loss in Brisbane was probably the hardest to swallow of the bunch with the Bullets on a 7-game skid prior to the match against the Breakers. New Zealand allowed what was the worst offence in the league to shoot at 52.2% in the match, including 40.7% from three, constantly allowing Brisbane open and clean looks from outside.

The Breakers themselves shot at 22.2% from the perimeter which has been a major issue for them all season, ranked 9th in the NBL with a 29.9 three-point percentage. It makes the gameplan simple, force the issue against the Breakers and you can pull away.
