The Athletics travel to Guaranteed Rate Field to play the Chicago White Sox for the first time this season. Both head into the series on the back of defeats.

The White Sox played the New York Yankees last with hopes high when they took out game 1 of a three-game series, but they dropped the next two to lose the series 2-1.

The Athletics are coming off the back of a defeat to the Texas Rangers. They tied the series 1-1 when they took out game 2, but lost in the decider.

Head-To-Head

This will be the first time these two sides go head-to-head this season in this four game series.

The last time these two sides had a series against each other was in 2019 with the Athletics taking out both.

The A's won 2-1 in the play-offs last year after recovering from losing the opening game.

Oakland Athletics Form

The Athletics have had a fairly decent run leading into this series as they have only lost one of the previous three.

Oakland saw regular series wins over the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians with both resulting in whitewash victories.

While their most recent series against the Rangers saw the latter emerge victorious.

Chicago White Sox Form

The White Sox have some serious tinkering to do as they have only won one regular series in their last three.

That win came against the Chicago Cubs in early August, but they have since suffered back-to-back series defeats to the Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees.

What is more concerning is that in both of those series the White Sox won the first game, but failed to claim the series.
