Arrowfield Stud has joined forces with Bloodstockauction.com for a special online sale featuring 15 well-bred youngsters, with a $50,000 bonus incentive adding further appeal for prospective buyers.

The promotion will see $25,000 awarded to each of the first two graduates of the sale to win a metropolitan race in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane as two-year-olds.

Bidding opened on Friday, October 23, with the full Arrowfield Stud auction catalogue available online ahead of the closing countdown from 6pm AEDT on Tuesday, October 27.

The partnership represents another step in the growing shift towards online thoroughbred sales, with one of Australia's leading breeding operations embracing a platform that provides access to both domestic and international buyers.

Bloodstockauction.com CEO Anthony Gafa believes the model offers significant advantages for vendors, particularly when it comes to reducing preparation costs while reaching a wider audience.

"It is a smarter way to sell young horses," Gafa said.

"They are exposed to a larger local and international audience with reduced costs and risks whilst ensuring best animal practice."

Quality Pedigrees Feature in Arrowfield Sale

The 15-strong offering features progeny of established stallions Maurice and Dundeel, alongside emerging sires Hitotsu, Native Trail, Lofty Strike and Admire Mars, while Zousain is also represented.

Among the headline lots is a Maurice colt out of Gentility, a winning daughter of Snitzel and Group 1 winner Politeness.

The pedigree is particularly appealing given Maurice's strong record with Snitzel mares, while another offering by the Japanese stallion is a filly out of Reaching, a daughter of Deep Impact and four-time Group 1 winner Alinghi.

Dundeel has several well-related fillies in the auction, including one out of the Street Boss mare Kissaki, whose family features Group 1 winners Jacquinot and Inference.

Another is out of Sekiyama, a Lonhro mare who has already produced stakes-placed multiple metropolitan winner Fukubana to Dundeel, while a filly out of Smokin' Crazy adds further depth to his representation.

There is also considerable interest in the first-crop progeny of Hitotsu, the Australian Guineas and dual Derby winner whose yearlings have sold for as much as $480,000.

His representatives include a filly out of Fast Eva, whose first two foals are winners, and another out of Networking, the dam of Group 2 placegetter Invinsible Tears and a half-sister to Hong Kong star Pakistan Star.

Native Trail, the unbeaten European champion two-year-old, has a filly out of Maracas, a winning full sister to Australian Guineas winner Wandjina.

Other notable youngsters include a Zousain colt out of Miracle Seven, an Admire Mars colt from the Deep Impact mare Blue Charm and a Lofty Strike filly out of dual metropolitan winner Eight Diamonds.

Online Sales Continue to Gain Momentum

For Bloodstockauction.com, the collaboration provides an opportunity to strengthen its position in a market where online selling has become increasingly prominent.

Gafa pointed to the platform's membership base of more than 25,000 as a major advantage for vendors seeking exposure without the expense of a traditional sales preparation.

"This is a way of selling without having to cut corners, to lessen the costs and the risks whilst having exposure to a large local and international market," he said.

With $50,000 in bonuses available and a catalogue featuring some of Australia's most recognisable thoroughbred bloodlines, the Arrowfield offering provides buyers with an additional incentive ahead of Tuesday's closing countdown.

Buyers can view all 15 lots and place their bids in the Arrowfield Stud auction ahead of Tuesday's closing countdown.
