To be honest, this one is tough to pick with both of these teams as inconsistent as they come this season, never knowing what day of the week they will show up to a contest and how long. It is more like they are playing from quarter to quarter instead.
But here we are, we make the calls everyone else is afraid to. So with not a lot of the usual data to back things up, I am leaning on the poor JackJumpers home form and the slight 2-1 record from Melbourne in Tasmania and also in the straight head to head record.
The strongest trend that is alive between these two is the under which is at four consecutive games. Both teams are at their best when they get their defensive structures right and it is usually the biggest focus when they clash horns.
- Melbourne have won 2 of the last 3 matches against the JackJumpers in Tasmania.
- Tasmania are 3-8 at home this season.
- The last 4 matches between the JackJumpers and United in Tasmania have gone under the game total.
- The last 2 JackJumpers home games have gone under the game total.

Tasmania JackJumpers Form & Team News
The rollercoaster ride as a Tasmania JackJumpers fan continues with Tassie winning games they shouldn’t and losing games against inferior teams. Fan or not Tasmania are one of the hardest teams to tip in NBL26.
After holding on against South East MMelbourne and getting a rare home victory, the Jackies went on the road where they had won 3 straight matches, against a struggling Illawarra team. Full of confidence, the Jackies didn’t look like it, starting flat and never recovering from the 11-point deficit at halftime.
The light in the 92-90 loss was the fight back, putting them in a position to win the match, however it wasn’t enough. Josh Bannan continued to impress in a losing side scoring 25 points along with 5 rebounds.
Melbourne United Form & Team News
Melbourne were in full command against Brisbane back on the 27th of December, sitting on a 14-point lead, but as United have done all season, they put themselves in a position to lose and where a whisker away from defeat before some clutch scoring of Chris Goulding late in the fourth, handing them a nervous 92-87 victory.
The positive for Melbourne was in the early stages they looked like the team that started the season so hot, controlling the contest and getting scoring from all over the court. As earlier in the season United had 5 players with 10+ points in the match, however they were still beaten heavily 42-36 in the rebound count, which has hurt them of late.
