Sydney Kings vs Tasmania JackJumpers NBL26 Round 6 Tips - Jackies take it to the Kings

In the NBL25 Round 6, the Tasmania JackJumpers are projected to win against the Sydney Kings for the second time in a row. Despite Sydney's experienced players, their lack of depth and scoring ability has hindered their performance. Tasmania, having shown defensive strength, is expected to once again overpower Sydney, with key player Josh Bannan likely to excel in rebounds. The game is anticipated to be low-scoring, continuing the trend of past encounters between these two teams where the total has stayed under the expected points.

As much as I love and have faith in the JackJumpers, this is more about the Sydney Kings for me, who just don’t have the depth to compete with the good defensive teams in the competition.

Scott Roth and the JackJumpers are defensive specialists and picked the Kings to pieces in their Ignite Cup clash, holding Kendric Davis to 10 point, forcing the others to lift the load, which they were unable to do with Sydney scoring 70 points in the match and going down by 16.

It will be on repeat here at Qudos Arena on Sunday with this one set to be a bore again. I’ll take the 4.5-point start for Tasmania as the away dog and back this game to stay under for the sixth straight time between these two clubs.

There will be missed shots from both so rebounds will be up and Josh Bannan has been the collector for Tasmania and will go over his total of 8.5 boards.

  • Tasmania beat Sydney by 16 points 10 days ago.
  • The last 5 matches between Tasmania and Sydney have gone under the game total
  • 10 of 14 games this season involving Sydney and Tasmania have gone under the game total.
  • Josh Bannan has average 9.33 rebounds in his last 6 games.

Sydney Kings Form & Team News

The Kings have started the season 3-4 going 2-2 at home QUDOS Arena in an underwhelming NBL26 to date, not even scratching the expectations they had at the beginning of the new season.

They have to be the most disappointing team in the NBL for mine. They have experience in Matthew dellavedova and you flair in Kendric Davis and just can’t get it right.

Xavier Cooks has been nowhere and went completely missing against South East Melbourne on Thursday night in the Kings 112-95 loss.In 20 minutes on the court, Cooks tallied just 3 points and 3 rebounds and got fouled out.

Sydney’s depth is an issue with their bench averaging just 22.7 points per game (6th in NBL) with a plus/minus of 0 points. So if the starters are getting shutdown or contained, they are getting nothing positive from their bench.

Tasmania JackJumpers Form & Team News

The JackJumpers are fairing well with their 4-3 record after starting the season with 5 away games in their first 7 matches. They will have one more on Sunday against Sydney before bunkering up on the island for 4 straight home matches. A win against the Kings would have them in a good position to push for a top-two spot by the mid-way point of the season.

The Jackies are looking to redeem themselves after a poor loss to the Breakers in New Zealand last time they played, unable to buy a bucket for long periods in the game, going down 82-65.

As always the concern for Tasmania is scoring, once again ranked 9th in the NBL with an average of 82.0 points per game. Physicality is often an issue getting out rebounded by their opponents on most nights.

There is also a lack of shots being taken despite the class off their offence this season, averaging 69.7 attempts and are ranked 7th while SEM lead the league with 82.0 attempts per game, to put that figure into perspective.
