The Triple J Hottest 100 is an annual music listener poll hosted by Australian radio station TripleJ. The public votes alternative music of the year in an online poll that begins two weeks prior to the new year.

The countdown, which begins counting down from 100 all the way through to the number one song.

From 1989 to 2018, the 100 most popular songs were counted down from 12 pm on Australia Day, but the countdown moved to the day before Australia Day in protest to what the public holiday stands for.
