Partizan will face Olympiacos in a vital EuroLeague match as they aim to end their six-game losing streak. New head coach Joan Penarroya still seeks his first victory amidst ongoing roster challenges. Partizan's form is poor, with significant defeat margins. Conversely, Olympiacos inch closer to their top form, recently thrashing Bayern 95-80. They face minor lineup changes, but players like Sasha Vezenkov remain reliable. Last season, Partizan triumphed over Olympiacos in Belgrade, yet given their current struggles, another victory could be challenging.

Partizan Form & Team News

There has been little progress in Partizan performances in recent weeks. New head coach Joan Penarroya is still waiting for his first EuroLeague win with the club, and it is a real question when that might happen.

Team chemistry also appears to be seriously damaged, and it remains unclear what the new coaching staff can do to fix the situation by the end of the season.

Partizan are on a six-game losing streak in the EuroLeague, with an incredible average margin of defeat of 22 points.

Last week they suffered two road losses against Monaco and Barcelona. Unlike the game against Monaco, Partizan held up well for the first 20 minutes in Barcelona, but as has often been the case, a sharp drop in the second half followed, which the experienced home side punished.

The final result was another convincing defeat, 88:80, leaving Partizan stuck at the bottom of the table with a 6-15 record.

One of the few bright spots was Duane Washington, who finished the game with 20 points and 5 assists, while all other players scored in single figures.

Olympiacos Form & Team News

Olympiacos are still struggling to reach their well known top form, but their play is slowly starting to resemble what they showed in previous seasons.

Last week they split results in the EuroLeague double round. After a loss in Istanbul against Fenerbahce, they responded three days later with a convincing 95:80 home win over Bayern.

Aside from some minor issues in the opening 10 minutes, Olympiacos had little trouble breaking down their opponent. They quickly returned to their trademark ball movement on offense, causing serious damage inside the paint against Bayern.

Sasha Vezenkov and Nikola Milutinov punished every defensive mistake, allowing Olympiacos to stay efficient even with a lower three point shooting percentage (9/33).

Vezenkov had an excellent game with 25 points on 10/12 shooting, while Milutinov added 14 points without a miss and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Tyler Dorsey, Evan Fournier, Tyson Ward, and Kostas Papanikolaou each scored 10 points, which was more than enough for a routine win.

For the upcoming game in Belgrade, coach Bartzokas will be without new signings Monte Morris and Tyrique Jones, but Shaq McKissic and Frank Ntilikina return to the lineup.

Head to Head

Last season Olympiacos were beaten in Belgrade. Partizan secured a 78:70 win at Belgrade Arena, with Carlik Jones among the best players on the floor, recording 15 points and 8 assists.

Verdict

It would take something close to a miracle for Partizan, in their current condition and form, to compete evenly with Olympiacos.

In addition to terrible form, they are also dealing with serious roster issues, with players dropping out one by one due to injuries. Everything points toward another routine win for the Greek champions, who should not have many problems against a depleted opponent.
