Renovations to Canberra's synthetic track will see their winter 2020 programs now shifted to the grass surface at Thoroughbred Park.

The Canberra Acton track, which has been in operation since 2005, generally takes the meetings throughout the wetter and colder months at Thoroughbred Park in the nation's capital with them scheduled cards still going ahead but now on the course proper in Canberra.

The synthetic surface comprises a mix of sand, petroleum wax and polymer fibre, which combine to form a surface that is consistent and at the same time provides a cushioning affect when horses work or race on the track and performs at its best at temperatures below 22 degrees.

These transferred meetings are:

  • Friday, 19th June 2020
  • Friday, 24th July 2020
  • Friday, 7th August 2020
  • Friday, 21st August 2020

The next meeting at Thoroughbred Park in Canberra is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3.
