Brisbane Bullets vs New Zealand Breakers Frequently Asked Questions

It is no secret that the Bullets organisation is going through some tough times and the Breakers will capitalize on that and break their current two-game losing streak, repeating their big win in Brisbane they had back in Round Nine 113-84.

With Brisbane been very unsettled and the breakers a little inconsistent I am staying away from total in this one and sticking to the props game.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright and Sam Mennenga have been the leaders for the Breakers and when they are firing New Zealand often have the upper-hand. PJC is back playing the slick assist game with 10+ assists in two of his last three so the over on 7.5 will be good here. Mennenga has been one of the best Bigs in the comp and his battle with Harrison will be vital so I am taking 8+ rebounds for the big, a number he has hit in 4 of his last 5.

If Brisbane are to have a fighting chance to turn their season around they need to unlock Javon Freeman-Liberty, who has the potential to lead this team to find their offence again. When he is on, he is on and with the Breakers defence a little sloppy at the moment take JFL over 14.5 points.

Brisbane have lost 7 straight matches by an average of 20 points and no less than 6 points.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright has averaged 9.66 assists in his last 3 games.
Javon Freeman-Liberty has scored over 14.5 points in three of his 5 NBL games.
Sam Mennenga has had 8+ rebounds in 4 of his last 5 matches.

Brisbane Bullets Form & Team News

It is a tough time in Brisbane at the moment with the departure of head coach Stu Lash at the end of last week and interim coach Darryl McDonald now calling the shots in the Queensland capital.

It is a tall order for McDonald, attempting to turnaround a 5-14 team that has lost 7 straight matches and is without their marquee player Casey Prather for the season. If Brisbane are to make the postseason, a substantial change in play must happen almost instantaneously.

Brisbane ranks 8th in scoring (85.7 PPG) and tenth in shooting from the perimeter (28.9% 3P%) which is where Prather’s presence has really been missed over the last couple of weeks where they have actually averaged just 73.2 points per game.

New Zealand Breakers Form & Team News

The Breakers could do nothing to stop a career-best performance from Jack McVeigh in their clash with the Taipans on Friday, with the Houston Rocket prospect dropping 47 points and going 6 from 8 from the three point line, almost single-handedly taking down New Zealand 99-95.

The loss to Cairns was the Breakers second consecutive defeat after going down to SEM last weekend which ended a three-game winning streak.

Sam Mennenga had a return to his best form in the loss to Cairns, scoring a team-high 24 points along with 8 rebounds as he continues to put up career-best numbers in his third season in the NBL.
