In the upcoming EuroLeague clash, Partizan hosts reigning champions Fenerbahce in Round 12. Partizan, struggling with form and injuries, needs a win to change its momentum after a poor start to the season and a recent loss against ASVEL. On the other hand, Fenerbahce comes into the game with renewed confidence, boasting three consecutive victories. The home team is favored due to their court advantage, but with pressure and expectations high, a defensive, low-scoring affair is anticipated. The match promises to be a tense contest with Partizan's resilience against Fenerbahce's rising form.

Partizan Form & Team News

Partizan is struggling at the start of the EuroLeague season and is not showing even a fraction of the potential this roster possesses. With a record of 4 wins and 7 losses, they are currently near the bottom of the standings, but there is still plenty of time to improve their position.

The team is playing with very low confidence, and injuries are not helping. Most notably, the absence of injured Carlik Jones is irreplaceable, as he is by far the most creative player on the team and the main initiator of Partizan’s offense.

Another major issue is the poor form of Jabari Parker, who arrived in the summer as the club’s biggest signing and the player around whom the offense was supposed to be built.

Partizan is in a negative momentum, and the atmosphere has worsened even further after a weak performance and loss against ASVEL. Coach Obradovic publicly criticized his players, and we will see how they respond in this upcoming matchup.

In France, Partizan played a dreadful defensive game, allowing the last-placed team in the standings to open the match with a 16:2 run and score as many as 88 points.

Expectations from fans and the public ahead of this game are enormous, and the black-and-whites have no more room for error if they want to fight for the upper half of the table.

Fenerbahce Form & Team News

After three consecutive EuroLeague victories, Fenerbahce has finally started showing the level expected from the reigning European champions. With a 6-5 record, they have climbed to 9th place and into the play-in zone.

The most important and encouraging win came against the league leaders Hapoel Tel Aviv, with a 74:68 victory. They were unable to play at home, as the match took place in Munich, which makes the win even more impressive.

The game was marked by a physical battle between two strong teams, plenty of fouls, turnovers, and poor shooting percentages, and in such an environment, coach Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team coped better.

Fenerbahce was led by Talen Horton-Tucker with 15 points, Devon Hall added 14, while Tarik Biberovic and Bonzie Colson scored 10 each.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce was also successful in the domestic league, winning convincingly 94:80 in a tough road game against Esenler Erokspor, which puts them in good spirits ahead of their trip to Belgrade - a venue where they have not had much success in the past two seasons.

Head to Head

Last season, Partizan defeated Fenerbahce in Belgrade with a 90:81 victory. The hero of the game was Dejuan Washington with an impressive 27 points.

Verdict

Partizan enters this match as a slight favorite solely because of home-court advantage, but it will not be easy for them to justify that status, as they are under tremendous pressure.

They practically have no room for mistakes, which will likely result in a more nervous and physical start to the game. I expect a tough, defensive matchup with lower shooting percentages, at least in the first half.
