NBL25 Championship Odds - Updated for Play-In Games

In NBL24 it was the Tasmania JackJumpers who were able to take their maiden championship with a 3-2 Grand Final series victory over Melbourne United. Following the completion of the regular season the Illawarra Hawks continue as favourites at PlayUp.

TeamOdds
Illawarra Hawks$2.15
Melbourne United$3.00
Perth Wildcats$6.00
SE Melbourne Phoenix$9.00
Sydney Kings$13.00
Adelaide 36ers$21.00
Odds from PlayUp correct as of 11/02/25

Play-In Games

The last round of the NBL Regular Season saw teams jostle around for seeding which finished with Illawarra Hawks $2.15 and Melbourne United $3.00 securing 1st and 2nd

That means Perth Wildcats $6.00 and SE Melbourne $9.00 meet in the first Play-In game with the winners progressing to a Semi-Final with Melbourne United. The loser will play the winner of the play-in game below.

Later in the week Sydney Kings $13.00 without star Xavier Cooks who is suspended pending a drug inquiry, will take on the Adelaide 36ers $21.00. The loser of that game will be eliminated with the winner taking on the loser of the Perth vs SE Melbourne clash.

Round 17

The Brisbane Bullets are now out of contention and the recent slip of form for the Tasmania JackJumpers $34 has seen them freefall to the bottom of the odds table. Perth Wildcats $5.50 have halved their odds numbers from last week as have South East Melbourne Phoenix $10.00

Adelaide 36ers $21 aren't currently in the top six but are favoured to make it over the Jackies.

Round 16

The bookies have cancelled the New Zealand Breakers no longer offering odds on them to win the championship. Illawarra Hawks $2.25 are still odds on favourites despite dropping a couple games over the past few weeks.

The same can be said for fellow top 3 candidates Melbourne United $3.75 and Sydney Kings $4.50 who are more priced on their pedigree and potential than their current form.

South East Melbourne Phoenix $26 are the dark horse and I don't expect their number to stay above $20 for long.

Round 15

Sydney Kings $4.50 got back into the winners circle with two straigh in round 15 moving them to equal second in the rankings with Melbourne United $4.50 who lost to the Illawarra Hawks $2.25 who are odds on to take the crown this year.

The Adelaide 36ers $17.00 have leap-frogged the SE Melbourne Phoenix $23.00 despite still having troubles in their bench unit with scoring. The Phoenix have been the 2nd best offensive team over the last 5 games and are getting better defensively, they are the best pick of the double digit teams.

Round 14

Another split round with a few upsets chucked in to shake things up. Despite losing two in a row the Sydney Kings $5.00 remain in third spot in the odds rankings. SEM Phoenix $17 climb to equal 5th following their NYE win over the league leading Illawarra Hawks $2.15.

Brisbane Bullets $41 have fallen back down the rankings with some poor form around Christmas. New Zealand Breakers $151 have shortened dramatically despite losing PJC for 5 games.

Round 13

The Illawarra Hawks $2.15 have shortened following their double win over Christmas while the Tasmania JackJumpers $8.00 are now fourth favourites after being at the bottom of these rankings after the first third of the season.

Things are not looking good for the New Zealand Breakers $501 who lost again and could be without their star for their next game through suspension.

Round 12

The New Zealand Breakers $151 complete their fall from grace going into triple digits. I still don't think they are down and out, there is a long way to go and things can change dramatically in this league. I am predicting a loss to Sydney this weekend so the number could be better next week.

Illawarra Hawks $2.50 are the new Championship favourites with Adelaide 36ers $21.00 jumping up a step in the rankings with their top players starting to rejoin the team.

Round 11

Cairns Taipans have fallen completely off this list now with the bookies not even offering a number. South East Melbourne $21.00 are on parity with the Wildcats $21.00 which I find astounding, there is every chance you get the Phoenix for a better number further along.

Brisbane $41 are back in to double digits due to a win streak but if you want a long shot New Zealand $41 is the better option.

Round 10

Melbourne United $2.50 have shortened once again with their strength on both ends of the court on full display. The same cannot be said though for New Zealand Breakers $34.00 who have fallen dramatically following a string of losses.

Tasmania JackJumpers $13.00 have reclaimed 4th spot in the rankings as they continue to pick up their scoring which has held them back in the first half of the season. Sydney Kings $4.00 are at their biggest odds after spending the majority of the season as favourites.

Round 9

Melbourne United $3.00 have taken over as favourites for the NBL Championship winning 6 of their last 7 games. Adelaide 36ers $8.00 are still being kept at an arms length with consistency playing a part in their ranking.

Defending Champs Tasmania $17.00 have regained ground on the top 5 following two straight wins. Brisbane $51.00 have also returned to double digits with some solid games over the weekend.

Round 8

The defending champions Tasmania have made a massive leap back up the rankings after a big win against New Zealand over the weekend. The bookies have halved their odds whilst Perth are still at $21 with Bryce Cotton returning to the lineup this coming week earlier than expected.

Adelaide took another home win, this time against Illawarra and are now 4th favourites on $6.00.

Round 7

Melbourne and Illawarra are hot on the heels of the Sydney Kings but it is the New Zealand Breakers who have shot up the rankings this week following two dominant wins against the 36ers and United.

The defending Champions Tasmania have fallen further down the list and are now outsiders to return to glory along with the developing Bullets and injury ravaged Taipans.

The oddsmakers are still doubtful around Perth and whether the Bryce Cotton injury will hamper their scoring abilities.

Round 6

The Sydney Kings have lost two in a row failing in their double game week to get past their opponents. Despite the two losses they still lead the odds but have pushed out to $3.00 with the other teams getting closer.

Melbourne United have leapfrogged Illawarra after a dominant performance in their win over the Hawks earlier in the round. United also swept aside the Taipans on Sunday boosting their liking with oddsmakers.

Cairns are the first team to break the three digit barrier now priced at $101 after getting pummelled at the weekend.

Round 5

Illawarra continue to dominate and the JackJumpers continue to fall down the standings. That is the takeaway from Round 5 of the NBL. The Adelaide 36ers resigned Montrezl Harell and have moved into 4th on the odds list, I am not so sure about them though with their bench unit struggling on both the offensive and defensive ends this season.

Perth will be without Bryce Cotton for up to a month which severly hampers there chances, but will we see a well rested Cotton come finals time because of the break? If you think so, the time is now to swoop on the Wildcats!

Round 4

What goes up must come down and just as quickly as the Taipans shot up the rankings they have fallen with some poor performances at the weekend without Taran Armstrong. Cairns are back to $34 with Tasmania $13 almost freefalling down the odds as they struggle to find their feet on the offensive end.

New Zealand return from the USA and the NBA Pre-season this week and will play double games for the next three weeks. If you think they pull through get on them now, you won't see many teams without a loss paying $17!! Brisbane anchor the table despite getting a win over the Phoenix last round.

Round 3

The Cairns Taipans are the biggest movers this week going from $67 to $26 following their double win last weekend. Sydney have once again shortened in the odds as favourites to take the title. Following their round 3 win against the Brisbane Bullets they now are $2.90 to win it all.

Perennial top team the Perth Wildcats are 1-3 so far this season and have pushed out to $11. The New Zealand Breakers are currently in the USA playing NBA pre-season games, they are 2-0 in their short NBL season, leading the league but sit at $13 in the odds.

Round 2

Following the completion of Round 2 the Illawarra Hawks have increased steadily up to 3rd in the odds from $11 all the way up to $5 as they remain unbeaten over 3 games. Perth push out to $8 following their loss at home to Sydney.

Last year's champs the JackJumpers have tightened from $9 to $7 following a dominant performance in Round 2 but are still 4th in the odds rankings.

Round 1

Round 1 is in the books and the cream has already started to rise to the top. The Perth Wildcats and Sydney Kings were both dominant in their wins with the Wildcats shortening a smidge in the odds. Tasmania have dropped to 4th after starting the season as 2nd favourites but will try to avenge their Round 1 defeat to Melbourne in this weekends games.

Illawarra are the big movers as they now sit at $11.

Pre-Season

Last years Grand Final losers Melbourne United are sitting as equal second favourites with the JJ's at $6.00 with Round 1 knocking on the door. They have a solid roster and a coach with experience and determination. The Perth Wildcats are a team that always make finals and with MVP Favourite Bryce Cotton they are definately a team to keep an eye on.

The middle of the pack includes teams like the Illawarra Hawks under coach Justin Tatum, New Zealand Breakers who have also picked up a new coach and changed almost half their roster and South East Melbourne Phoenix who have the scoring but are questionable in defence. Adelaide 36ers will need to recover from some off court stuff to place well in this season's league.

The bottom 2 ranked teams aren't looking like setting the field alight with the Brisbane Bullets being a young team with a lot of turnover on their roster and the Cairns Taipans getting struck with the injury bug before the season has even started.

Will the JackJumpers be able to defend their crown or will we see a new contender arising?
