What is Aqua Rugby?

Aqua Rugby games are full-contact and played on a 30x30 metre pontoon. In order to score a try, players must dive off the edge of the pontoon where the try line is and into the water.

The competition sees a range of professional and amateur teams playing for the trophy.

There are also a number of current and former men's and women's rugby stars that take to the pontoon.

The teams will see five players and two reserves for each side, with the two reserves ready to jump onto the main pontoon as other players fall off the pitch.

The games are only 10 minutes long, with two five minute halves and two minutes for half-time.

A try is worth seven points if the attack started in the attacking teams X-zone, while it is worth five points for anything else. Tries are scored in NFL-style touchdowns between the corner posts.

For knock-ons and penalties, the restart will see a simple tap kick style restart to keep things moving quickly.
