For England, it is the chance for them to bounce back from what was a disappointing Six Nations campaign as they lost more games than they won. Their two victories were undercut by defeats to Scotland, Ireland and France and they finished 15 points short of Grand Slam champions France. 

Eddie Jones and his side will be targeting a slightly better run of performances in Australia, with the World Cup looming large. 

Meanwhile, Australia are still looking to recapture their form with the Wallabies not the force they once were. 

Australia's last cluster of games was an abysmal showing. A 32-23 win over Japan started things off well, but narrow losses to Scotland and Wales sandwiched a 32-15 humbling by England, with the Wallabies a long way off the pace. 

That is why this series is so important. A triumph over England across the series would see confidence return, but a series loss would see even more questions posed. 

The first Test will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth on July 2nd.

The second Test will take place at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on July 9th.

The third and final Test will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on July 16th. 

While the Wallabies will be confident of winning the series with home advantage, the Aussie crowd could quickly get on their backs if the English get on a roll.
