Covent Garden Set To Debut
Covent Garden, a half-sister to superstar galloper Winx, is set to make her debut on the Warwick Farm Metropolitan meeting this Monday, June 8.
By Exceed And Excel and out of Vegas Showgirl, this superbly bred filly that's also prepared by master trainer Chris Waller, has accepted for Race Three on the Sydney Monday card which is a two-year-old fillies maiden to be run over 1200 metres.
She arrives following a May 29 trial win under Hugh Bowman which was one the slower 910 metre heats at Canterbury that morning, however, they certainly weren't there to break any records in the five horse field.
Coincidentally, today also marks the day when Winx made her debut, which was a winning one when scoring over the 1100 metres at Warwick Farm on June 4, 2014.
Covent Garden also holds a nomination for the Canterbury meeting on Wednesday, June 10 should they elect to bypass Warwick Farm, where she has drawn barrier fourteen.
