Greyhound wins after missing the start by eight lengths

Favourite backers were left in shock at Rockhampton on Wednesday night as top elect Surreal overturned a massive margin at the start to win the second event on the card.

Jumping as a $1.75 favourite with Sportsbet, the daughter of Magic Sprite walked out of the boxes, giving the rest of the field a huge lead not long after the start. The race changed dramatically from then on, with the event panning out perfectly in her favour as the other dogs bunched up ahead.

With a great turn of foot Surreal was able to work her way through the field, and when a gap opened up at the top of the straight she pounced quickly, completing one of the most remarkable wins you'll see this year.

Among the punters to back the favourite was Sky Racing's Brad Davidson, who tweeted that it was "the most unlikely wins in a greyhound race" that he has ever seen.

Check out the race below and judge for yourself.
