The haul lifted him to 40 wins for the season, narrowing the margin to championship leader Caspar Fownes, and marked a personal milestone as the first five-timer of his career at a single meeting.
After a quieter stretch in recent weeks, the stable rebounded in emphatic fashion, with Newnham’s runners producing across multiple grades in a result that highlighted both depth and consistency.
Andrea Atzeni played a key role in the dominance, riding four winners on the program to continue his strong run of form and move alongside Hugh Bowman on 40 wins in the jockeys’ standings.
Crimson Flash (Race 7) headlined the night for the stable with a return to winning form, while Armor Golden Eagle (Race 2) broke through for a maiden Hong Kong victory after dictating the race.
Atzeni also partnered Sky Cap and Win Beauty Viva to complete his four-timer, producing a confident and composed display across the meeting.
Further success came through Ace War (Race 6), who made it consecutive wins with a powerful finish under Zac Purton, unleashing a sharp turn-of-foot once clear running presented.
Soaring Bronco (Race 1) made an immediate impact following a stable transfer, sharing victory in a dead heat with Glorious Ryder, while Notthesillyone (Race 3) added to the tally with an upset win after overcoming a wide draw.
Purton also secured a double on the program, highlighted by Aurio’s win, where the galloper set a new class record with a slick performance.
The five-timer stands as one of the most commanding training displays of the Hong Kong season, reinforcing Newnham’s credentials as a genuine premiership contender as the campaign builds momentum.
