Four-time Group One winner Hey Doc has resumed his preparations for 2021 with the veteran son of Duporth winning an 800m jumpout at Avoca on February 15.
The seven-year-old has been a flagship runner for trainer Tony McEvoy as the first Group One winner for the McEvoy/Mitchell Racing brand along with being the first Group One triumph for the Tony & Calvin McEvoy partership when taking out the 2019 Winterbottom Stakes.
An $85,000 yearling purchase that has accrued over over $3.1 million in prize money to date, Hey Doc is being aimed towards the Group One William Reid Stakes on March 19, likely on a second-up route following a possible return in Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap on February 27 at Flemington.
