Wimbledon 2022 is fast approaching, with the best players from the men's and women's side of the draw all coming together to lift the famous trophy in London.
For many, Wimbledon is the biggest tennis event on the calendar, with the grass courts, strawberries and cream and overcast and often rainy conditions helping to make it a tournament like no other.
On the men's side of the draw, this year's tournament could prove to be the most exciting and unpredictable for some time.
Historically, the competition has been dominated across the last near 20 years by Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. However, the scene seems wholly different this time around.
While Djokovic is the favourite at $1.83 with Ladbrokes, none of Murray, Federer or Nadal make up the top two in the betting. Indeed, Carlos Alcaraz is next in the betting at $6.00, with Nadal next in line at $7.00.
Matteo Berrettini ($9.00), Felix Auger Aliassime ($12.00) and Stefanos Tsitsipas ($13.00) offer decent value, but most will question whether the trio can get anywhere near those above them in the betting.
The beauty of the competition this year is that there are so many good players that will likely hit the circuit in London, and it means the competition could prove tough to predict.
Every single player in the betting offers value, with the exception of Djokovic, so it makes sense to bet against the Serbian in this one as long as you think one of the chasing pack will defeat him.
Last year's champion Barty was the favourite, but her retirement from tennis means that the betting was thrown up in the air. Now, Iga Swiatek is available at $2.40 with Ladbrokes, with Naomi Osaka ($10.00), Emma Raducanu ($12.00), Cori Gauff ($13.00) and Simona Halep ($13.00) next in line.
Indeed, British star Raducanu will be hoping that she can put in a number of performances that the home crowd can get behind, with the spectators at Wimbledon on Centre-Court always creating a raucous atmosphere. Although it is worth noting that a poor 2022 to this point means she is not as fancied to win the competition as she was.
Whatever the result on the men's and women's side of the draw, this year's Wimbledon could prove to be one of the best yet, with the betting possibilities providing a lot of potential value.
