Ahead of the return of Wimbledon in 2024, reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz is the favourite to defend his crown at $2.50 with bet365. Beaten finalist Novak Djokovic is $2.75, while Daniil Medvedev ($13.00) and Jannik Sinner ($15.00) are the closest rivals to the top two.

Further out in the betting, you can back Holger Rune ($26.00), Matteo Berrettini ($34.00), Nick Kyrgios ($34.00) and Stefanos Tsitsipas ($34.00).

Clearly, the bookmakers see Alcaraz and Djokovic as the major players to back, with some real distance between the duo and the rest.

After two weeks of intense battling in 2023, it came down to number one seed Alcaraz and number two seed Djokovic. In a final for the ages, it was Alcaraz that triumphed as he secured a stunning 1-6 7-6 6-1 3-6 6-4 win to down Djokovic and see him lose a Grand Slam match for the first time in 2023.

The defeat is one that some feel was the passing of the baton, but Djokovic will have other ideas. The Serb was excellent in the match and just came up against a player in fine form. Perhaps on another day, Djokovic would have come out on top.

For Alcaraz, this could be the start of something truly special as he looks to build on the win. Another victory in 2024 would only add to his growing legacy, although he has painted a target on his back ahead of the competition, with every other player on the circuit desperate to be the person that knocks him out of the tournament.

Can Alcaraz do it all over again in 2024, or will another player secure the trophy at Wimbledon?
