The Women's 2024 French Open will see Iga Swiatek attempting to defend the title she secured in 2023 at Roland Garros.

With a huge range of viable options, the 2024 French Open could be the most unpredictable yet. Ahead of the tournament, reigning champion Swiatek is the favourite at $2.10 with bet365, but is she the player to back?

The 2024 French Open will begin on Monday May 20 and run until Sunday June 9. Ahead of the women's tournament, reigning champion Iga Swiatek is the favourite to defend her crown at $2.10, but Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka is close behind at $5.00.

2024 Australian Open semi-finalist Coco Gauff is next up at $9.00, with the trio completing the only available options below $10.00.

The interesting part about the betting for the French Open is that Swiatek seems to invariably fall early at a competition, much in the same way as she did at the 2024 Australian Open.

Some bettors have chosen to avoid backing her as she seems to have a slip-up in her, making the short odds unattractive. By contrast, Sabalenka was in stunning form at the Australian Open, and she will be fancied to go on and add a second Slam of the season to her trophy cabinet.

You simply cannot discount a player of the skill of Coco Gauff, while Australian Open runner-up Qinwen Zheng is available at $34.00 and will attract a lot of betting interest.

As the only clay court Slam in the calendar year, the French Open provides a different test for players. It will be hugely interesting to see how certain players bounce back from disappointment at the Australian Open, while others are looking to build on their exploits at the first Slam of the season.

Which player are you backing to secure the second Grand Slam crown of the year?
