The 2025 Women's Australian Open will begin on January 12, with the top talent in the women's game all hoping to put down a marker for the new season ahead.

Heading into the competition, all eyes will be on Aryna Sabalenka, with the reigning champion currently priced at $3.50 with bet365 to defend the crown she secured in 2024.

Aryna Sabalenka was not to be denied in 2024, as she romped to Australian Open glory in fine style. Her triumph has seen her priced at the head of the betting at $3.50, although she is hardly clear at the top.

Ig Swiatek is right behind Sabalenka at $4.50, with Coco Gauff ($5.50), Elena Rybakina ($8.00), Naomi Osaka and Mirra Andreeva (both $13.00) also jostling for position.

The women's game has been incredibly tough to call of late as no one person has been able to dominate the field. This simply means that anyone in the betting has a genuine chance of winning the competition, which is quite different to the men's side, which has been dominated at Novak Djokovic in recent years.

One proposition that bettors may choose to shy away from is Iga Swiatek. For her odds ($4.50), bettors will want someone that is consistently battling towards the latter-stages of the competition. While Swiatek is undoubtedly talented, she seems to lack that consistent ability to really making backing her viable.

Instead, reigning champion Sabalenka and 2024 semi-finalist Coco Gauff will be options many bettors look to instead.

With so much time between now and the 2025 Australian Open, the odds will shift a lot. Sabalenka will hope to add more Slams to her trophy cabinet, while the rest of the field will want to make the most out of the Grand Slams to come.
