I'm backing Draper to edge this semi-final contest. The Brit has been playing top 10 tennis since August 2024, winning 20 of his last 22 completed matches, only suffering defeats against Jannik Sinner and Alex de Minaur. Draper is also yet to lose a completed match in 2025. Lehecka is in similarly dominant fashion, tasting defeat just once in a completed match this season - and that was against Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open. It promises to be a close encounter between two injury-prone, but highly talented players who are producing top 10 tennis at the moment - but Draper won their most-recent meeting at the end of 2024 and for me, has the slightest of edges in Doha.

Currently locked at 1-1. Lehecka defeated Draper in three sets in the Adelaide 2024 final before the Brit returned serve with a straight sets victory at the end of last season in Paris.

Lehecka has also been supremely dominant to launch 2025, winning 13 of his 14 completed matches as the Czech continues his climb towards the upper echelons of the sport.

Starting the year by winning the title in Brisbane, Lehecka advanced into the fourth round of the Australian Open, where he was knocked out by Djokovic.

The Czech was forced to retire in the second round of Rotterdam, but he's back to full fitness in Doha, breezing past Grigor Dimitrov and Fabian Marozsan before pulling off one of the biggest wins of his career, coming back from 2-4 down in the deciding set to upstage top seed Carlos Alcaraz 6-3 3-6 6-4.
