Carlos Alcaraz vs Ethan Quinn Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Quinn can cover big games line in Barcelona

Alcaraz is coming off his first Monte Carlo Masters title last weekend and will now turn his attention to capturing a third consecutive Barcelona Open crown, taking home the silverware in his last two appearances in 2022/2023 before missing last year's edition of the tournament through injury.

There's no doubt Alcaraz wins this match, but I like Quinn with a big +6.5 games start here. Alcaraz has been wildly inconsistent throughout 2025 and he has a tendency to suffer concentration lapses and let his mind wander in early round matches. Alcaraz has either dropped the opening set or failed to cover a -6.5 games line in all five of his ATP opening round matches so far in 2025, so Quinn - who registered two very impressive wins in qualifying - can win enough games to cover.

This will be the first career meeting between the pair.

No player has won more matches than Alcaraz this season, so it's crazy to say that the Spaniard hasn't really been anywhere close to his best so far.

Alcaraz has compiled a 20-4 record and won two titles in Rotterdam and Monte Carlo, but he continues to struggle with his consistency and closing out opponents convincingly.

Indeed, three of his five matches in Monte Carlo last week went to a deciding set, while he also suffered disappointing defeats at big tournaments at the Australian Open (vs an injured Djokovic), Indian Wells (vs Draper) and Miami (vs Goffin).

The Spaniard has dominated Barcelona so far in his short career, winning the title in 2022 and 2023, meaning he comes into this clash on a 10-match winning streak at the tournament.

Quinn is looking to make his top 100 debut this season after peaking at a career-high ranking of No. 123 earlier this month.

The 21-year-old is a solid talent and you'd think he will crack the top 100 sooner rather than later.

Quinn has gone 3-5 when stepping up to tour-level so far in 2025, making second rounds at Dallas, Delray Beach and Houston.

The American has limited experience on European clay, but he was extremely impressive in his two qualifying matches in Barcelona, toppling experienced players in Corentin Moutet and Borna Coric.
