It's been a turbulent last couple of years for Rublev, but perhaps saving a match point in his quarter-final triumph over Alex de Minaur will see him turn a corner? Auger-Aliassime will be a tough opponent, with the Canadian already winning two ATP titles in 2025, but Rublev has enjoyed tremendous success in this matchup throughout the course of their careers and he can register his sixth victory in this H2H in Doha. Five of the six previous meetings have been decided in a final set, so Rublev prevailing in three offers the value.
Head To Head
As mentioned, Rublev has dominated this matchup, winning five of the six previous encounters, including a pair of three-setters in Rotterdam and the Madrid Masters final in 2024.
Andrey Rublev Form
Rublev has struggled considerably over the last couple of years (relatively speaking), but in saying that, he's remained inside the top 10 and is still capable of great performances.
It was a difficult start to 2025 for Rublev - he was knocked out in the opening round of Hong Kong and dealt a tough draw in the first round of the Australian Open, where he went down in straight sets to teenage star Joao Fonseca.
The Russian lost in the semi-finals of Montpellier to Aleksandar Kovacevic and quarter-finals of Rotterdam to Hubert Hurkacz before arriving in Doha this week.
Rublev, who has won two ATP titles in the Middle East, defeated Alexander Bublik and Nuno Borges in straight sets before a thrilling clash with Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals. Rublev needed eight match points (and saved one himself) to record a 6-1 3-6 7-6 victory and his first top 10 scalp of the season.
Felix Auger-Aliassime Form
Auger-Aliassime had also suffered from a dip in form over the last couple of years, but he's started 2025 in very promising fashion.
Indeed, Auger-Aliassime has already picked up two ATP titles over the opening two months of the season, triumphing in Adelaide (beating Tommy Paul and Sebastian Korda) before securing the Montpellier silverware earlier this month.
However, there have been setbacks too - the Canadian lost from two sets up in the second round of the Australian Open to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and retired in the opening round of Rotterdam.
Auger-Aliassime has benefitted from a comfortable draw in Doha this week, playing only one completed match to make the semi-finals, with Hamad Medjedovic withdrawing injured and Daniil Medvedev retiring with illness after one set of their quarter-final.

Verdict
Rublev has won five of the six previous encounters between the pair, while five of those six matches have also gone to a deciding set.
Auger-Aliassime is playing well to start the season, but there's a clear matchup issue here for him - Rublev should be confident following his win over De Minaur and he can ride that wave into the Doha final.
