Shapovalov heads into this contest with a 13-8 record on the season.

The Canadian has struggled for his best tennis over the last couple of years, but he proved just how dangerous he can be with a run to the ATP 500 Dallas title in February, defeating three top 10 players along the way.

Shapovalov went on to make the Acapulco semi-finals in his next tournament, but he hasn't won back-to-back matches since.
