2020 French Open Tips - Can Nadal make 13 his lucky number?

The French Open looks to be a two-act affair in 2020.

Rafael Nadal is the strong favourite having only ever lost twice over the 14 times he has played in the tournament.

Dominic Thiem is the up and coming clay court star who could beat Nadal if they are to meet before the final, while Federer and Djokovic will be somewhere around the finals as per usual.

2020 French Open Best Bet - Rafael Nadal

Rafa's record on the clay is near perfect.

He has played in this Slam 14 times and has lost just twice, which means he has won 91 matches during the tournament.

Last year, Dominic Thiem was able to beat him in the lead up tournament before Raffa turned the tables and beat him comfortably in the final.

The way he played all the way through the 2019 tour, you could almost say he is in career best form and is the most likely winning chance of the 2020 French Open.

The only thing that I can see beating him is an injury, but let's hope we can see the champ add a 13th trophy here to the cabinet.

2020 French Open Value Bet - Dominic Thiem

Dom Thiem is a young man on the rise and he proved he has what it takes to beat the best on the clay last year, beating Rafael Nadal in the Barcelona Open.

He made it all the way to the final in at Roland Garros before Nadal was able to swing the win back his way.

If someone is going to beat Rafael Nadal and take over his clay court throne, I think it can be this man right here.

He is currently the world number five and has had a very consistent year across all surfaces, but I think it is fair to say that on the clay he is the second best player in world.
