Palestine vs Australia Tips

Palestine were able to secure a point on the road in their last qualifying match as they battled to a 0-0 draw with Lebanon.

Australia hammered Bangladesh 7-0 to get their World Cup Qualifying campaign off to an excellent start and the Socceroos should be too good.

  • Palestine have not won any of their last six games (L4, D2)
  • Palestine have not scored in five of their last six
  • Australia have won their last two in a row
  • The Aussies have an aggregate score of 9-0 across their last two matches

Head To Head

The two sides have only met once before, with the Aussies running out 3-0 winners in the Asian Cup back in 2019.

Palestine Form

Palestine have struggled for wins and form for some time now, with the side not tasting victory since March 2023.

Their 2-1 win against Bahrain feels like a very long time ago, with four defeats and two draws coming from their subsequent six matches. While their biggest loss in this time has been by two goals against China and Vietnam, they are simply not scoring enough goals, with one goal scored in their last six outings.

Against an Australian side that scored seven goals against Bangladesh, Palestine cannot afford to be shy in front of goal, or they could become the latest side to stomach a hammering on the pitch courtesy of the Australians.

Australia Form

It feels like Australia's 1-0 loss to England was a turning point in a tough run that saw them lose three and draw one heading into their clash with New Zealand.

Despite losing to the English, Australia were right in the game and could have come away with a draw or even a win against an inexperienced England. This loss led onto a strong 2-0 win over New Zealand before the Aussies hammered Bangladesh 7-0.

This win saw Jamie Maclaren net a second-half hat-trick as he helped his nation move to the summit of the standings in the group. Victory here would give Australia a real hold on the group, and it is tough to see anything other than a big away win.

I am backing Australia to ease to another comfortable win as they take six points from their opening two World Cup Qualifying games.
