Moreton Bay United vs Brisbane City Tips

Moreton Bay United have not won either of their last two matches following a loss to Peninsula and a draw with the Queensland Lions.

Brisbane City have won their last three in a row, with the side hitting top form at the perfect time as they head into the finals.

  • Moreton Bay have not won either of their last two (D1, L1)
  • The Bay have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10
  • Brisbane have won their last three in a row
  • City have scored two or more goals in their last six matches on the bounce

Head to Head

United secured a 3-2 win over their opponents when they met back in July, while the sides shared the points in the reverse of the fixture earlier in the season. United have managed to stay unbeaten in their last four matches with City, winning three times and drawing once.

Moreton Bay United Form

Moreton Bay United have struggled of late, with a 1-0 defeat to Peninsula followed by a 1-1 draw with the Queensland Lions.

Despite their woes of late, United managed to finish as the best of the rest outside of the Gold Coast Knights as they won 11 of their 22 outings, drawing five times and losing six games.

With 45 goals scored, United have the joint-best scoring record in the league, and they can summon confidence from their four-game unbeaten run against their opponents. If United can get the first goal in this one then it will likely result in them pulling away from their opponents.

Brisbane City Form

Brisbane City have looked very good of late and arrive for this semi-final on the back of a four-game unbeaten run that has included three wins in their last three outings.

Victories over Sunshine Coast Wanderers (2-1), Gold Coast United (4-1) and the Queensland Lions (2-1) have been impressive results, but City know they need to up their game if they are to eliminate the side that finished second on the ladder this term.

City are only slight underdogs with most bookies, with their four-game unbeaten run meaning they will arrive for this one confident. However, without a win against United in their last four, City will have to hit the ground running if they are to down their opponents.

Verdict

I am backing both sides to hit the back of the net in this one as City stun their opponents and move into the final.
