Atletico Madrid may still not be viewed as among the big boys of La Liga in Real Madrid and Barcelona, but they are doing a good job of keeping pace with the duo and piling the pressure on them.
A 2-1 loss to Las Palmas saw a six-game winning run brought to an end, with Madrid then bouncing back by beating Villarreal 3-1 at home. This victory was their sixth in a row at home, while it means they are just two points short of Barcelona in second.
Atleti are just short of the top and will still be seen as major underdogs in the battle for the title, which will suit them well. Another win could see them climb up the table, and they will fancy their chances of beating a Mallorca side that has one win on the road this season.
Mallorca Form
Mallorca have been poor of late, with the side not tasting victory since their 1-0 win over Celta Vigo back in mid-September.
Since then, Mallorca have lost three times and drawn four matches, with their inability to pick up wins seeing them slip to a single place and just two points above the relegation zone.
With just one win on the road and two defeats in their last two away games, I am backing them to struggle once again.
