Granada vs Man United Tips

Granada have enjoyed a dream run to the quarter-finals in their first season of European competition, but they have lost their form at perhaps the wrong time.

United have been efficiently going about their business in the Europa League and I'm predicting they return to Manchester with a slender advantage. Under 2.5 goals is the best bet.

  • Granada have lost their last 3 matches (all competitions).
  • Granada have seen under 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 9 matches (UEFA Europa League).
  • Man United have won 3 of their last 4 matches (all competitions).
  • Man United are undefeated in 15 of their last 16 matches (all competitions).
  • Man United have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches (UEFA Europa League).
  • Man United have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 matches (UEFA Europa League).

Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between Granada and Manchester United.

Granada Form

Granada qualified for the quarter-finals of the Europa League despite a 2-1 defeat to Molde in Norway.

Diego Martínez’s side beat Molde 2-0 at home in the Europa League first leg. Roberto Soldado's away goal in the second leg meant Molde needed to score four times and effectively ended their hopes qualifying for the last eight.

Either side of the international break, Granada have lost twice in La Liga to make it three straight defeats in total.

They went down 2-1 at Valencia, and were thumped 3-0 by Villarreal on Sunday as Gerard Moreno scored a hat-trick.

Granada Team News

Centre back Neyder Lozano, midfielder Luis Milla and striker Luis Suarez remain on the sidelines for Granada.

The La Liga side also have doubts over right-back Dimitri Foulquier and left-back Carlos Neva. Midfielder Alberto Soro is also unlikely to feature.

Man United Form

Manchester United came from a goal down to beat Brighton 2-1 at home in the Premier League on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford cancelled out Danny Welbeck's opener, before Mason Greenwood struck an 83rd minute winner for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side.

It was a winning return to action for United, who had lost their last game prior to the international break. Leicester dumped the Red Devils out of the FA Cup with a 3-1 quarter-final win.

Prior to that, United had booked a spot in the Europa League quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over AC Milan. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Paul Pogba scored the winner in Milan.

Man United Team News

Anthony Martial's knee injury keeps him out with the forward joining defender Phil Jones and midfielder Juan Mata in the treatment room.

Centre-back Eric Bailly has tested positive for coronavirus and won't play, while left-back Alex Telles will not travel to Spain.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has a decision to make over Dean Henderson or David De Gea in goal.

The match is being played at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes on Friday, April 9 (AEDT).

Man United have conceded just once in four Europa League knockout games. I'm tipping them to continue that trend with a 1-0 win with under 2.5 goals the best bet in Granada.
