The two sides have met 10 times, with Germany winning four matches, Hungary winning four games and two meetings ending as draws.
Germany Form
Germany were not in the mood to be denied in their opening game as they hammered Scotland in an impressive 5-1 win.
In truth, the Scottish looked well out of their depth on opening night, but they were made to look worse by their hosts. Germany looked like they rarely got up to top gear, and this will worry the rest of the competition, with the home side looking very good.
A win in this one could see Germany guaranteed a place in the knockout stages if Switzerland avoid losing to Scotland, and I am backing the home side to secure all three points despite failing to keep a clean sheet.
Hungary Form
Hungary are already staring at the prospect of failing to reach the knockout stages of Euro 2024 after losing to Switzerland in game one.
Their 3-1 loss saw Hungary struggle in the first-half and barring a much-improved period in the second-half, they were well beaten by their opponents. A win or a draw keeps them in the hunt for a place in the knockout stages, especially with Scotland to come in game three.
However, if Hungary play as poorly as they did in the first-half of their game against Switzerland in their second match, they will get played off the park by Germany. While I do predict that Hungary will get a goal in this one, I am not backing them to win.
Verdict
I am backing Germany to win their second game in a row at Euro 2024, although I do not predict that they will keep a clean sheet.
