It was almost a perfect season for Leverkusen in 2023/24, with Xavi Alonso's side winning the Bundesliga and German Cup, but they suffered their only defeat of the entire campaign in the Europa League final against Atalanta.
Backing last season up was always going to be an impossible task and Leverkusen have already suffered a defeat this term, going down 3-2 to Leipzig in their second round of the Bundesliga.
However, Leverkusen bounced back after the break with a commanding 4-1 victory on the road to Hoffenheim, with Victor Boniface scoring a double.
Verdict
It's been a shaky start to life without Arne Slot for Feyenoord and their great home record in Europe is under threat here.
Leverkusen are coming off a 4-1 win on the weekend and their attacking firepower should be enough to see them come out on top in what could turn into a shootout in Rotterdam.
