Belgium are looking to build on two comfortable wins over Montenegro (2-0) and Luxembourg (3-0) in June.
These wins allowed Belgium to bounce back from a pair of draws against Ireland and England, with their momentum heading towards Euro 2024 stalling. Romelu Lukaku netted twice in their win over Luxembourg, and he will be vital to Belgium's hopes of winning the trophy this summer.
While Slovakia will pose a tough opponent to breakdown, Belgium have the players to win their opening match, and the amount of possession Belgium will likely enjoy plays into the hands of Lukaku, who will be a menace in the box.
Slovakia Form
Slovakia were excellent in their final three Euro 2024 qualifying matches, and they arrive for the tournament on the back of two simple 4-0 wins over San Marino and Wales.
Their win over a Welsh side that have proved tough to beat in the past was impressive, but it was quite telling of a perceived lack of world class forwards that they could only put four past San Marino.
Their game-plan against Belgium will likely see Slovakia try to soak up a lot of pressure and hit their opponents on the break. However, playing against a side full of quality, I predict that Slovakia will crack under the pressure.
