Belgium were stunned by Slovakia in their opening match at Euro 2024 as they were beaten 1-0.

Belgium were not good enough in their opening match at Euro 2024 as they fell to a stunning 1-0 loss at the hands of Slovakia.

Despite arriving for the game as big favourites to take three points, they were kept scoreless by their opponents in an impressive rearguard action that highlighted a real lack of bite in the Belgium attack. While Belgium deserved to lose on the day, they will know that they can elevate their performance heading into their second match.

With the pressure now well and truly on, I am backing Belgium to bounce back and secure a crucial win as they keep qualification to the knockout stages in their own hands.

Romania Form

Romania were outstanding against Ukraine in their first match as they secured a deserved win and boosted their goal difference following a 3-0 triumph.

Victory ended a run of four without a win including three draws and one defeat. Romania have been tough to beat of late, but goals were a real problem for them heading into their clash with Belgium.

Barring their 3-0 win over Ukraine, Romania had failed to score in their previous two. With this in mind, I am backing this one to be a low-scoring match in which Belgium creep to the win against their stubborn opponents.
