- Manchester City Form
Manchester City were held to yet another score-draw at the weekend as they failed to put Tottenham down in a 3-3 draw.
- Villa are unbeaten in their last three (W2, D1) (Premier League)
- The home side have won all six of their matches at Villa Park (W6) (Premier League)
- City have drawn their last three matches (Premier League)
- City have seen six goals or more scored in three of their last four games (Premier League)
Head To Head
City are unbeaten in their last 15 meetings with Villa going all the way back to a 3-2 win for Villa at home back in 2013.
Aston Villa Form
Aston Villa have been superb this season, and they can leapfrog the reigning champions on the ladder if they can defeat their opponents at Villa Park.
A 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the weekend was a disappointing result, but it did extend their unbeaten run to three matches following wins over Fulham and Tottenham. While both of these wins were excellent, Villa know they will have to be on a different level to beat City this week.
Even with six wins in six home games, Villa know they need to be cautious as they take on a wounded City side that are winless in their last three. However, with the crowd right behind them, the home side will feel that this could be a famous night at Villa Park.
Manchester City Form
Manchester City may be entertaining the Premier League with plenty of goals in their matches, but they are allowing their opponents too much time and space as they gift chances, goals and points.
Their 3-3 draw with Tottenham may have been steeped in controversy late on, but City can hardly claim that they did enough to deny Tottenham any points in a game that went back and forth. Ultimately, a point was a fair result.
Now, City head to Villa Park looking to end a run of three draws in a row as they try to notch their fifth win in eight away games. While every player will be raring to go, the reigning champions face an Aston Villa side that is flying and will relish the chance to compound the away team's woes.
Verdict
I am backing this match to see goals, while I am also backing Draw-Villa in the double chance market.
