Dortmund have put together a 10-game unbeaten run in all competitions heading into this contest and will be confident of progressing to the last eight of the Club World Cup, with Monterrey only advancing in two of their last seven knockout games in this competition.
The German heavyweights have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four games, while Monterrey only had three shots on target across their opening two group games against Inter and River Plate before the floodgates opened up against Urawa. Dortmund are more on the level of the former two teams, so Monterrey will likely find it difficult to create again here. Backing a Dortmund victory, with added value on a clean sheet.
Head To Head
This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
Dortmund Form
Dortmund are unbeaten in their last 10 games, finishing strongly in the Bundesliga to win their last five games and secure Champions League football for next season.
Nico Kovac's side have continued that momentum into the Club World Cup, kicking on from an opening 0-0 draw with current quarter-finalists Fluminense by beating Mamelodi Sundowns 4-3 and edging out Ulsan 1-0.
Dortmund have scored at least three goals in seven of their last nine games and are conceding an average of just 1.17 goals per game in 23 outings under Kovac.

Monterrey Form
It's been a solid showing from Monterrey this Club World Cup, especially when you consider they had lost games in the Mexican league to Tijuana, Tigres, Pachuca and Toluca since early April heading into this tournament.
Monterrey were able to hold Inter to a 1-1 draw and then frustrated River Plate in a subsequent 0-0 stalemate.
Needing a win to book themselves a spot in the R16, Monterrey saved their best for last in a thumping 4-0 triumph over Urawa, with German Berterame scoring a double.
