Energetik-BGU Minsk began the 2020 Belarusian Premier League season on fire with three straight wins. They beat BATE Borisov 3-1 at home, Ruh Brest 1-0 away and Minsk 2-0 at home.

Their last match was a 3-1 home defeat against Dinamo Minsk where they fell behind in the 7th minute. Aleksey Butarevich then gave away penalty and played a terrible pass that saw his side go 3-0 down.
