Australia vs South Korea Tips - Socceroos to edge into Asian Cup semi-finals

South Korea secured a win over Saudi Arabia on penalties as they trundled to a third draw inside 90 minutes in a row. 

South Korea edged past Australia in a 1-0 win when the two last met back in 2019. In their last 10, South Korea have won four times, the Socceroos have won twice, with the other four games ending in draws. 

Australia have been excellent at the Asian Cup, with four big performances seeing them take their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. 

Wins over India and Syria in the group stage came alongside a draw with Uzbekistan. The Socceroos saved their best performance for their first knockout game as they hammered Indonesia in a convincing 4-0 win.

Australia arrive for this one as the underdogs, but they know that South Korea have not been winning games regularly, drawing three of their four in 90 minutes. While I do not believe that the Aussies will have a particularly easy time of it, their recent performances should carry them into the semi-finals. 

Despite avoiding defeat across the Asian Cup so far, South Korea have only won once inside 90 minutes, with this coming in their first outing against Bahrain back in mid-January. 

Since then, South Korea have drawn with Jordan (2-2) and Malaysia (3-3), while they battled to a 1-1 draw after extra-time against Saudi Arabia before winning on penalties. 

While South Kora are unbeaten in their last two against Australia, their last defeat to the Aussies came in a 2-1 extra-time defeat in the Asian Cup back in 2015.
