Their last meeting saw the Wanderers escape with a 1-0 win after midfielder Jordon Mutch’s 57th minute goal.

Western Sydney Wanderers Form

Western Sydney have had an ambivalent few weeks.

After going down 2-1 to Brisbane Roar, the Wanderers suffered a 5-4 defeat away from home against Melbourne Victory.

Western Sydney fought back from 5-1 down with midfielder Graham Dorrans and striker Mitchell Duke scoring.

Those defeats were rectified in emphatic fashion as the Wanderers toppled Sydney FC 3-2 in the derby. Striker Bruce Kamau opened the scoring before Duke doubled the side’s lead.

Ex-Celtic forward Scott McDonald’s debut goal for the club sealed the win late in the match.

Goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic is the side’s only injury, with the custodian recovering from a shoulder problem.

Western United Form

Western United find themselves knocking on the door of the top six.

Mark Rudan’s side picked up a much needed 2-0 win over Newcastle in Melbourne. An own goal from Jets defender Nikolai Topor-Stanley opened the scoring before winger Dylan Pierias sealed the win.

A goalless draw with Adelaide United away from home followed where Pierias had a goal controversially ruled out by the VAR .

Luck did not swing Western’s way as they conceded a 94th minute goal to go down 2-1 away to Brisbane Roar.
