Head To Head

Western Sydney have won two of the last three meetings between the teams, including a most-recent 2-1 win at HBF Park in March 2024.

Perth Glory Form

It's been a nightmare last few seasons for Glory, but they've had a bit to cheer about lately (relatively speaking), winning two of their last five games.

After losing three games on the trot following their 1-0 triumph on the road over rock-bottom Brisbane Roar, Perth produced one of the upsets of the season as $8.00 outsiders, conquering former league leaders Auckland 1-0 at home this past weekend.

Teenage midfielder Jaylan Pearman was the hero for Glory, scoring his maiden A-League goal in just his third appearance, with his first-half strike ultimately proving the difference.

That result propelled Perth six points clear of last-placed Brisbane, with their primary goal this season avoiding another wooden spoon.

Perth Glory Team News

Glory aren't expected to make too many changes to the team that beat Auckland, with David Williams sidelined for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury.

Western Sydney Wanderers Form

It's been a decent run of form for the Wanderers, who come into this encounter having gone unbeaten in five of their last six games - although, they find themselves down in eighth spot on the ladder, five points adrift of the finals positions.

After earning wins over the likes of Melbourne City, Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix since the start of December, the Wanderers head into this clash without a victory in their last two outings.

The Wanderers went down 3-2 at home against Macarthur before a 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory back on January 4 in their most-recent game.

Alen Stajcic's side would have been disappointed not to have come away with all three points after giving away an equaliser via the penalty spot in the 87th minute.

Western Sydney Wanderers Team News

Dylan Sciciluna is out with a knee injury for the Wanderers, while Jeong Tae-Wood remains questionable with an ankle problem.

Verdict

The Wanderers are unbeaten in five of their last six games and have beaten far superior teams than Perth during that run, including current leaders Melbourne City on the road.

Can't see Glory backing up their surprise win over Auckland and they've got a while to go before I can ignore their sustained poor form. Wanderers to win with both teams finding the back of the net is our prediction for this contest.
