Head To Head

City have won four of the last five A-League meetings between the teams, scoring 4+ goals in three of those victories. Perth did however knock City out of the Australia Cup in preseason, winning 5-4 in a thriller after extra-time.

Perth Glory Form

That Australia Cup win over City is as good as its got for Perth to start the new season, with the club once again languishing near the bottom of the ladder.

After picking up the wooden spoon last season, Perth are in 12th spot after three games this term, with their solitary points coming last week in a dour 0-0 draw against the winless Mariners.

Glory were humbled 6-1 by Macarthur in their opening game of the season, while they couldn't get off the mark at home in Round 2, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Wellington.

Nikola Mileusnic and Cristian Caicedo come into this squad for this clash, with Mustafa Amini and Josh Risdon still out injured.

Melbourne City Form

It's been a good start to the season for City all things considered, with the club winning two of their three games to be sitting in fourth spot on the ladder.

City opened the season with a 1-0 win over the Newcastle Jets on the road, but they were thoroughly outclassed by Victory in the Melbourne derby in Round 2, losing 3-1 after conceding all goals in the opening 25 minutes.

Aurelio Vidmar's side bounced back to register a gritty 1-0 win over Western United on Monday night, but the victory was soured by Andrew Nabbout suffering a season-ending ACL injury, while Marco Tilio is also out for an extended period.

As mentioned, Nabbout and Tilio are both out, with the former gone for the season. Aziz Behich is also missing for this clash due to suspension.

In a boost for City, James Jeggo returns from suspension.

Verdict

Tough game to call with City's squad decimated by injuries, while Perth are favourites for the wooden spoon again.

Glory are usually good for a goal at home, while their defence is shocking, so City should still find the back of the net despite their injuries. A draw looks the value bet in the H2H market.
