The win came courtesy of a red card to Brisbane's Corey Brown, with this seeing Glory score three times in the 14 minutes after he was given his marching orders. While Perth had to take their chances and they did so well, would they have won that game had it not been for their numerical advantage?
While Perth did manage to secure a win in their last game, coming up against a very strong Melbourne City side that has dominated them of late will likely only end in their elimination from the cup.

Melbourne City were left reeling in their last game of the season as they were knocked out of the A-League Finals Series by rivals Melbourne Victory.
Defeat on penalties is never easy to take, while this is doubly true when it is also the last action of their season. Prior to this loss, City had made an impressive run in the league, winning three matches on the bounce.
One of their final three wins came in an 8-0 stomping of Glory, and City will be keen to begin the early-stages of the new season with a win in the Australia Cup.
Verdict
I am backing Melbourne City to return to competitive action with a win. While the Glory do have the advantage of minutes under their belt from their win over Brisbane Roar in July, I predict that the difference in quality between the two will show.
